Frankfurt museum set to open underground extension

There will soon be some new experiences on offer to art enthusiasts visiting Frankfurt with the opening of the Stadel Museum's highly anticipated underground extension.
The new space will be unveiled on 25 February with special exhibitions celebrating the likes of Edvard Munch, Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons.
It spans some 3,000 square metres, providing a substantial increase in area for the presentation of the masterpieces and famous works in the Stadel Museum's collection.
Several factors have come together to make the opening of the new hall a significant event, according to Frankfurt Tourism, including its 'groundbreaking' architecture and technical aspects and the 'international renown' of the art institution.
Other cultural highlights on the German city's calendar this year include a Warhol exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, which will run from 11 February to 13 May.
The show will bring together a selection of the American artist's works exploring the topic of mass media.
