Singapore visitors urged to check out rooftop bars

Singapore visitors urged to check out rooftop bars
24 Jan 2012

Travellers planning a trip to Singapore have been encouraged to enjoy a drink and take in the views available from some of the rooftop bars in the Asian city-state.

According to the local tourist board, these venues offer the best vantage points for admiring the destination's 'striking skyline' at night, as well as 'exotic cocktail menus and fashionable decor'.

Among the options is Orgo on Raffles Avenue, from where visitors can enjoy 360-degree views encompassing Marina Bay while sampling unusual beverages such as roasted apple pie cocktail.

Located 282 metres above the ground is 1-Altitude, which boasts the title of the highest bar in Singapore.

The venue was named the best new rooftop bar by Time Out magazine in 2011 and picked up the Singapore Prestige Brand Award the following year.

Other recommendations from the Singapore Tourism Board include Ku De Ta, which was singled out for luxury amenities including a pool side bar, observation deck and club lounge, and the 'eccentric, playful and hip' Loof, a split-level bar on North Bridge Road.
