Shoppers urged to hunt for bargains in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB) has announced details of a new website highlighting some of the tax-free shopping opportunities and bargains on offer in the city.
Taxfreephilly.com was launched this week and is aimed at the destination's leading international tourism source markets, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
Visitors to the site can see news and facts about shopping in the Philadelphia region, as well as cost comparisons on name brand items.
The online resource also features an interactive map allowing users to plot a shopping route stopping off at their chosen locations from a list of more than 200 boutiques, department stores, specialty retailers and other outlets.
Jack Ferguson, president and chief executive of the PCVB, said: 'Everyone is looking for a bargain these days.
'Our taxfreephilly.com website is a great added feature to promote Philadelphia as a premier shopping destination to international travellers by showing visitors how much they can save.'
The site is supported by three 'shopping ambassadors' who are originally from outside of the United States but are currently living in Philadelphia, who will blog, tweet and provide Facebook posts to help members of the public keep up-to-date with shopping deals and developments on the retail scene.
