Giant Andy Warhol exhibition to open in Singapore
9 Feb 2012

The largest collection of Andy Warhol artworks ever assembled will this year go on display in Singapore.

Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal - which takes its title from the artist's prediction of a future where everyone can be famous for 15 minutes - will open at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands on 17 March.

Arranged to mark the 25th anniversary of Warhol's death, the show will include more than 260 paintings, drawings, sculptures, films and other pieces.

Visitors will also be able to see a range of associated documents, timelines, photographs and archive material providing an insight into the artist's life and work.

The exhibition is being organised by the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, whose director Eric Shiner said the institution is 'thrilled' to be presenting the man's work in Singapore.

'Twenty-five years after his death, Warhol's legacy and importance only continues to grow and we know that he would be pleased to know his artwork is on display at ArtScience Museum in Singapore for the first time,' he added.

The display will be based at the venue until 12 August, after which it will move on to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Tokyo during an Asian tour spanning more than two years.
