Virgin Atlantic investing in first class services

Virgin Atlantic investing in first class services
9 Feb 2012

Virgin Atlantic has launched an initiative to improve its offerings for premium travellers, with some £100m set to be invested in the airline's first class cabins.

A number of changes will be introduced during a three-year project starting this spring, including upgraded seats and a futuristic bar.

There will also be new culinary experiences on offer to people travelling in first class during Virgin Atlantic flights, with customised menus and new crockery set to be introduced.

The airline tested out the updated amenities and services with groups of some of its most frequent fliers, some of whom tried out the seat-beds during an overnight stay at a test facility.

Virgin will introduce the changes on morning flights to New York JFK airport from London later this year, before rolling them out across the rest of its network.

The redesigned first class cabin will be debuted on the carrier's new Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which are being launched as part of a fleet renewal programme.
