Flights to London could prove popular among modern art enthusiasts over the coming months, following the launch of a major exhibition showcasing work by Pablo Picasso at Tate Britain.

The show, which explores the great Spanish artist's influence on British culture and the development of modern art in Britain, opened on 15 February and will run until 15 July 2012.

It also looks at Picasso's lifelong connections to and affection for the UK.

People visiting London over the coming months can head to Tate Britain to see more than 150 notable artworks, including Picasso pieces such as 1925's The Three Dancers and Weeping Woman from 1937.

Also featured in the display are works by seven British admirers of the great artist: Duncan Grant, Wyndham Lewis, Ben Nicholson, Henry Moore, Francis Bacon, Graham Sutherland and David Hockney.

Photography enthusiasts can also visit Tate Britain this year to see Another London, an exhibition opening on 27 July that will showcase 150 images from the 20th century focusing on London as their key subject.
