Seattle to host first ever science festival

Travellers visiting the north-west United States this summer might have the chance to check out the first ever Seattle Science Festival.
Due to run throughout June, the event will be part of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.
The region's schools, universities, research centres, businesses, cultural institutions and other organisations will come together to highlight the importance of science and technology.
Events for visitors to look out for include the free Science EXPO Day at Seattle Center on 2 June, which will feature more than 150 hands-on experiments, exhibits, games, live performances and more.
The campus and grounds of Bastyr University will provide the setting for the 14th annual Herb and Food Fair on 2 June, while computer science experts Pablos Holman and Tadayoshi Kohno will talk about cyber security at the Town Hall on 9 June.
Visitors to Seattle will also be able to see demonstrations, attend lectures and take part in a range of activities at venues throughout the city during the festival.
