New show opening at Tower Bridge this spring

People staying in hotels in London this year will have the chance to visit a new exhibit at Tower Bridge telling the story of the famous landmark.

Due to open on 1 May, the show will feature actors playing Queen Victoria and the men responsible for designing and building the bridge - civil engineer Sir John Wolfe-Barry and architect Sir Horace Jones.

The experience will begin with a visit to Sir John's virtual Victorian study, where viewers will see the Queen conversing with her two subjects in an environment created using 3D mapping technology.

Tower Bridge's creative projects manager Eddie Saul devised the new attraction, while film and media company ay-pe - which previously worked on attractions such as the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh - developed the show.

Ay-pe's creative director Richard Playford said: 'This is a great opportunity to create a unique piece of immersive media theatre to help interpret and complement this truly iconic structure.'
