Enjoy some street entertainment in Dublin
12 Apr 2012

Travellers staying in hotels in Dublin in June will have the chance to see some memorable sights, with the Street Performance World Championship set to return to Ireland's capital from 14 to 17 June.

Merrion Square will provide the setting for the popular event, which showcases the skills of a range of artists and performers.

Visitors can see everything from jugglers and contortionists to acrobats and magicians during the competition, which is Ireland's second highest attended annual free family event after the St Patrick's Day Festival.

The Street Performance World Championship will also be held in the Irish city of Cork on 9 and 10 June this year.

Several events and celebrations will offer entertainment for travellers visiting Dublin over the coming months, including the Flora Women's Mini Marathon on 4 June and the Bloomsday festival from 16 to 19 June.

The latter pays tribute to the work of Irish author James Joyce and is named after the main character in Joyce's celebrated novel Ulysses.
