New National Gallery opens in Cayman Islands

New National Gallery opens in Cayman Islands
13 Apr 2012

Travellers heading to the Cayman Islands this year can explore the newly located and expanded National Gallery, which is now open to the public on Grand Cayman.

One of the main aims of the institution is to reflect and represent the territory's growing artistic community, with seven fine art galleries located in the capital city of George Town alone.

The new 2,500 sq ft space in Harbour Place was designed to cater for a busy calendar of shows and events including approximately 30 programmes a month and eight exhibitions every year, as well as regular community festivals.

Visitors can also see the Cayman Islands' national art collection presented in a permanent venue, explore a state-of-the-art learning centre and walk through manicured gardens that will host picnics, art fairs, yoga sessions and more.

People planning a trip to the Caribbean destination this year can book flights with carriers such as United Airlines, British Airways and American Airlines.
