New Emirates Facebook page attracts over 300,000 fans

Emirates has announced that its recently launched official Facebook page attracted more than 300,000 fans in its first three weeks.

Within two weeks of opening the page, Emirates became the social networking website's leading airline in the Middle East and north Africa region.

The launch took place shortly before the introduction of the company's new Hello Tomorrow global brand initiative, with quizzes featuring excerpts from new television advertisements.

Visitors to the new online platform can see exclusive content, access sports and culture tabs and learn more about how Emirates has grown since its early days in the 1980s.

Sir Maurice Flanagan, executive chairman of the airline group, said the social networking site will help to achieve the Hello Tomorrow campaign's aim of connecting people and cultures through meaningful experiences.

He added: 'Our Facebook page is part of the vision we have for the future growth of the airline, so it's very encouraging to see that the page has broken records in our first few weeks.'

The company's online fans will be able to see the development of the new brand by viewing different advertisements that will be released each week.
