Bouncy Stonehenge unveiled in Glasgow

Bouncy Stonehenge unveiled in Glasgow
23 Apr 2012

People staying in hotels in Glasgow and London this year will be able to enjoy an unusual experience - bouncing on a giant inflatable replica of Stonehenge.

Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller unveiled the interactive work on Glasgow Green as part of the city's International Festival of Visual Art.

One of the aims of the piece, which is entitled Sacrilege, is to encourage public participation and interaction.

Deller encouraged people to enjoy the feature and said he hoped locals will respond to it in a 'Glaswegian manner'.

Following its appearance in the Scottish city, the piece will be presented in London as part of the Olympic Games later this year.

Due to run until 7 May, this year's Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art will feature exhibitions, installations and projects by various artists at different locations across the city, from major venues such as the Gallery of Modern Art and the Tramway to newly discovered spaces.
