New Hard Rock Hotel to open in Caribbean
24 Apr 2012

The range of luxury accommodation options available to travellers visiting the Caribbean is set to be extended following the announcement of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on the island of Aruba.

Due to open in 2014, the 310-room, £75m property will transform the destination's beach landscape, according to the local tourist board.

The establishment will be situated just outside Aruba's capital city Oranjestad, on the site of the abandoned Bushiri Hotel, which is due to be demolished by the end of the year.

Holidaymakers will benefit from a number of new amenities as part of the development, including a public beach with upgraded facilities.

The Aruba Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will also have rainwater collection systems, seawater swimming pools and other eco-friendly features.

Hard Rock currently has seven hotels under construction and a total of 12 properties worldwide, in locations including Doha, Atlantic City and the Riviera Maya in Mexico.

Aruba is already home to hospitality chains like Hyatt, Westin, Radisson and Marriott and will welcome an exclusive Ritz-Carlton resort in October 2013.
