Northern Ireland 'offers plenty to do on a budget'
26 Apr 2012

Northern Ireland is a good option for people planning to stick to a tight budget during their next holiday, according to the local tourist board.

Ruth Burns, destination public relations and marketing manager at the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, said the destination offers 'an array' of affordable activities, from free attractions to walks in scenic outdoor locations.

For free days out, Ms Burns recommended the Ulster Museum in Belfast and the Giant's Causeway in County Antrim, which is the region's only Unesco World Heritage site.

She also encouraged visitors to save money and take advantage of good weather by exploring some of the 'stunning' natural spots in Northern Ireland.

'Explore Castle Archdale Country Park in County Fermanagh, which has trails along the shore passing a deer enclosure, wildflower meadow and butterfly garden,' she recommended.

Holidaymakers visiting Belfast can head to the new Titanic Museum to learn more about arguably the most famous maritime disaster in history, which occurred a century ago this year.
