Swiss lounge at Basel-Mulhouse named best in world

The Swiss lounge at Basel-Mulhouse EuroAirport in Switzerland has been recognised as the best facility of its kind in the world.

It received the accolade at the Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Awards, which is based on votes cast by members of the world's biggest independent airport lounge access programme.

Jonathan French, head of brand for Priority Pass, said the Swiss facility has consistently delivered an 'outstanding experience' and distinguished itself ahead of more than 600 competitors.

Daniela Schadler, manager of the lounge, said: 'Our customers are obviously happy with the services provided by our service and welcome desk staff. The lounge ambiance, openness and architecture plays an important role too.'

Amenities on offer to guests include hot showers, wireless internet access, hot and cold buffet snacks and a dedicated business area.

Previous recipients of the Priority Pass accolade for the world's best airport lounge include the Continental President's Club in Houston and Finnair's passenger facility in Helsinki.
