Etihad and Emirates dominate World Travel Awards

Emirates and Etihad Airways were among the big winners at the Middle East ceremony of the 2012 World Travel Awards programme.
The title of the region's leading airline went to Etihad, which also picked up accolades for its first class services, inflight entertainment and cabin staff.
Emirates was recognised as the top economy class flight provider in the Middle East and also received an award for its Skywards rewards programme, while Qatar Airways was named the leading business class carrier.
Dubai was voted the leading overall destination and best cruise port in the region and Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Beach emerged as the top beach location.
Graham E Cooke, president and founder of the World Travel Awards, said: 'Our winners are … drawn from the entire breadth of the Middle East, reflecting the monumental gains that the region's travel and tourism sector has made in recent years.'
The regional winners will go on to compete in the programme's grand final, which will be held in New Delhi, India, on 12 December.
