New Crete and Croatia flights from Monarch Airlines
2 May 2012

Monarch Airlines will provide more access to some popular summer holiday destinations for Britons this year when it launches new routes to Croatia and Crete.

Flights to Dubrovnik on Croatia's Adriatic coast will be available three times a week from London Gatwick and twice a week from Birmingham.

Travellers interested in an island break will be able to catch twice-weekly flights to Heraklion, Crete's capital and largest city, from both airports.

The new links, which mark the continuation of Monarch's strategy to focus on scheduled services and leisure destinations in Europe, will be available from 1 May 2012.

Kevin George, the carrier's managing director, said: 'The addition of these new routes further reinforces our expansion strategy and our position as the leading leisure-focused airline serving the Mediterranean and the Canaries.'

Mr George noted that Dubrovnik is an 'extremely popular' holiday destination, with more than 1m visitors last year, and described Crete as a 'staple beach holiday favourite'.
