Guide publisher Marco Polo 'shaking up UK market'

Marco Polo has claimed that it will continue to 'shake up the UK travel guide market' with the release of ten new books and 12 city maps in June.

The brand entered the industry with 30 titles in March and its sales have seen it climb up the Nielsen BookScan chart.

It will boost its profile this week by launching a radio advertising campaign - a first for a UK travel publisher - before expanding its portfolio in June with new guides to destinations including Brussels, Los Angeles, South Africa and Egypt, as well as maps covering Venice, Prague, New York, Barcelona and other cities.

Marco Polo described its products as 'comprehensive yet highly affordable' and claimed that the books take readers 'straight to the heart' of a location.

Key features of the publications include 'insider tips' compiled by a 200-strong team of authors and routes to help travellers with limited time make the most of their trips.
