Overseas stag and hen parties 'getting more popular'
3 May 2012
Heading abroad for stag and hen parties has become more popular in recent times, according to an expert on nuptial celebrations.
Jane Anderson, a wedding writer and editor of the website 101honeymoons.co.uk, noted that prospective brides and grooms put a lot more thought into their parties these days.
She said there is now much more scope for arranging special activities and memorable experiences, rather than simply going out drinking and dancing, although this remains popular.
'Brides will often do something like go out to a spa weekend somewhere, or even one of these … boot camps where you go and get pampered and get fit as well,' said Ms Anderson.
A similar trend seems to have emerged in the honeymoons market, according to the weddings expert.
Ms Anderson revealed that many newly married couples are now looking to broaden their horizons and challenge themselves by seeking out culture and adventure, as well as the more traditional luxury and relaxation.
