Addis Ababa and Ahmedabad joins Etihad's growing network
11 May 2012

Etihad Airways has announced that it will further expand its international network in November 2012 with the introduction of services to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and Ahmedabad in India.

The cities will both be served from Abu Dhabi by Airbus A320 aircraft and will bring Etihad's total number of cargo and passenger flight locations to 86.

Addis Ababa and Ahmedabad are the airline's ninth destinations in their respective countries.

The Indian city will be served by daily flights, while Addis Ababa will initially receive five weekly connections before frequency increases to daily in 2013.

James Hogan, Etihad's president and chief executive officer, said: 'The addition of Addis Ababa, a major east African hub, and Ahmedabad, the fifth largest city in India, will make significant contributions to traffic flows to Abu Dhabi and beyond.'

Travellers catching flights to Abu Dhabi with the airline can also access onward connections to major international cities such as Mumbai, Johannesburg and Sydney.
