British film fans will soon have the opportunity to see two new movies showcasing locations in the Canadian province of Quebec.

Both Cafe de Flore and Monsieur Lazhar are set to be released in UK cinemas this month.

Cafe de Flore is set in Montreal and tells a love story about different people connected in strange ways.

It stars Vanessa Paradis and was nominated for 13 accolades in the Genies - Canada's film and television awards programme.

Monsieur Lazhar is an Oscar-nominated drama directed by Philippe Falardeau that follows an Algerian immigrant hired to replace a teacher who has died.

Other films that have used locations in Quebec include Wait Until Dark, a 1967 release starring Audrey Hepburn, and the Leonardo di Caprio movie Catch Me If You Can from 2002.

Travellers interested in visiting this part of Canada can catch flights to Montreal, the provincial capital, with carriers such as Air Canada, British Airways and Air France.
