National Geographic Traveller releases family special

Families looking for some holiday inspiration this year could find what they are searching for in a special edition of National Geographic Traveller magazine.
The issue, which is now available on news stands, provides information and recommendations regarding adventures for the entire family and advice on booking summer getaways.
In the cover story, entitled An Awfully Big Adventure, readers will find out more about active breaks in a wide variety of destinations ranging from Scotland to South America.
Maria Pieri, National Geographic Traveller's editor and editorial director, said holiday options such as exploring the Scottish Highlands and staying in a hostel in Wales mean British families do not have to venture too far to enjoy an exciting escape.
'Or it can involve looking further afield - perhaps a cycle trip to the moon (Iceland in this case!), diving in the Red Sea, riding a donkey in Spanish Castile, or kayaking in Croatia,' she added.
Other topics covered in the magazine include self-catering accommodation in Italy and safari holidays in South Africa.
National Geographic Traveller is published twice a year at a price of £3.85.
