Emirates boosting capacity from Dublin

Emirates boosting capacity from Dublin
17 May 2012

Emirates has responded to strong demand for travel to the Middle East from Ireland by deploying a larger aircraft on flights to Dubai from Dublin.

The airline introduced a 360-seat Boeing 777-300ER on the route at the beginning of this month - two months in advance owing to strong interest from passengers.

Ireland is now served by one of the largest planes in the Emirates fleet, providing 52% more seats on the connection to the carrier's home hub.

Salem Obaidalla, the airline's senior vice president of commercial operations in Europe, said the Dublin to Dubai route has performed 'phenomenally' since it was introduced in January this year.

'We thank all the customers who have supported our investment in Ireland and who have used the service to travel to Dubai and our extensive network beyond,' he added.

As well as providing direct access to the Middle East, the air link allows travellers to connect to onward flights to Sydney, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, among other long-haul destinations.
