21 May 2012
Travellers staying in hotels in Dublin this summer could have the opportunity to join in with a range of events and celebrations as part of National Heritage Week.
The initiative, which aims to increase awareness and provide education about Ireland's heritage, will run from 18 to 26 August 2012.
Dublin will provide the setting for several highlights on this year's programme, including an exhibition focusing on the life and works of William Butler Yeats at the National Library of Ireland on 18 and 22 August.
Visitors can also head to Dublin Castle on the evening of 24 August to hear a lecture about the Black Death and its grim consequences in Ireland in the 13th century.
There will be a number of guided tours available, giving members of the public the opportunity to find out more about locations such as Skerries Mills, the Old Glebe House, the Zoological Museum and the National Gallery of Ireland.
