Monarch launching Nice and Barcelona flights from Birmingham

Travellers based in the Midlands will have access to two popular holiday destinations in southern France and northern Spain with Monarch Airlines this summer.
The carrier has announced that it will launch four weekly flights to Barcelona and a daily service to Nice from Birmingham Airport during the coming season.
From 20 July, Monarch will also provide additional links to Malaga, Faro, Rome, Dalaman, Ibiza and other popular destinations from the West Midlands gateway.
Furthermore, the airline has launched its first programme from East Midlands Airport, its newest UK base, offering flights to Alicante, Palma de Mallorca and other Mediterranean holiday hotspots.
Kevin George, Monarch's managing director, said: 'We are delighted to be expanding our summer 2012 … programme from Birmingham Airport and launching our first programme … from East Midlands Airport, providing greater choice to our customers in the Midlands.'
The carrier also operates services to countries such as Croatia, Italy, Turkey and Egypt from London Gatwick, Luton and Manchester airports in the UK.
