Air Canada resumes St John's flights from London Heathrow

Air Canada resumes St John's flights from London Heathrow
24 May 2012

Air Canada has resumed a seasonal service providing a link between London Heathrow and St John's, the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador on Canada's Atlantic coast.

Non-stop flights will operate every day until 30 September 2012.

The route is the only direct daily connection between the London airport and Newfoundland and Labrador, the North American country's easternmost province.

Announcing the launch, Marcel Forget, Air Canada's vice president of network planning, said: 'This year, we are starting service almost two weeks earlier than last year due to strong performance and support from the St John's community.'

He also noted that, as well as creating a link between the two destinations, the route will enable travellers coming from Canada to access onward flights to Berlin, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Vienna and other European capitals.

In St John's, Air Canada's operations are timed to enable convenient connections to locations across the carrier's home country, such as Toronto, Halifax and Deer Lake.
