New York exhibition to showcase new photography
28 May 2012

Hotels in New York could prove popular among people with a passion for photography later this year, with a new exhibition celebrating the art form due to open in the autumn.

New Photography 2012 will come to the Museum of Modern Art from 3 October until 4 February next year.

The display will feature work by five artists with differing techniques and backgrounds who demonstrate the diversity of the art form.

Visitors can look out for pieces by Michele Abeles, whose studio constructions combine common objects with the human form, and Birdhead, a Shanghai-based duo comprising Ji Weiyu and Song Tao.

The American artists Anne Collier and Zoe Crosher will also be represented in the exhibition, along with Shirana Shahbazi, an Iranian whose output includes everything from photographic wall murals to photorealist paintings.

Also showing at New York's Museum of Modern Art this year is an exhibition of artworks featuring distorted images of the human body, which will run until 9 July.
