Brits encouraged to explore Europe

Europe offers a diverse range of destinations and experiences that make the region well worth exploring for Brits, according to adventure traveller and television presenter Ben Fogle.
He said the continent has a 'huge amount to offer' but is sometimes overlooked by people from the UK.
One possible factor in this trend is the expansion of low-cost carriers into long-haul destinations, which has led to some holidaymakers looking beyond countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Austria.
Mr Fogle said he and his family had just returned from Portugal, where they enjoyed good weather and attractions that are 'perfect' for youngsters.
'I would certainly recommend looking at some of our European neighbours that perhaps we have forgotten about and choosing some of them,' he added.
The TV personality also commented on the growing importance of modern technology for travellers, noting that platforms such as Facebook and Twitter now let people give real-time accounts of their experiences and activities.
