There will soon be a new accommodation option on offer to travellers visiting Vietnam, with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts set to open a new property in Da Nang, a port city in the country's South Central Coast region.

The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort is due to open its doors on 1 June 2012.

It features 197 bedrooms and has a layout devised by Bill Bensley from Bensley Design Studios Bangkok.

Guests will be able to make the most of features and amenities including Wi-Fi access throughout the resort, the Barefoot Cafe and the Citron restaurant.

The new property is set among the hills of the Son Tra peninsula, surrounded by a 'beautiful landscape with panoramic views of the East Sea', according to InterContinental.

Experiences on offer in the area include taking a shuttle bus into Da Nang to explore the bustling city and learning more about the history of Hoi An, a Unesco World Heritage site.
