Brits 'visiting Spain's lesser-known destinations'

British tourists are showing more interest in some of Spain's less famous regions and destinations, according to a travel writer and broadcaster.
Sarah Woods said the country is still 'highly popular' with holidaymakers from the UK, who continue to flock to coastal locations 'in droves'.
Many people are now making the effort to seek out locations offering more authentic experiences, some of which are within fairly easy reach.
'There is a trend for Brits to explore lesser-known inland towns and villages - often just a stone's throw from the bigger resort areas,' she said.
Ms Woods offered the example of Ojen, a mountain village with cobbled streets and a historic plaza just ten minutes' drive away from Marbella and the Costa del Sol, a region that travellers can reach by catching flights to Malaga.
The travel writer also commented on some of the areas worth exploring in France, recommending Burgundy on the strength of its wines, local cuisine, landscapes and historic towns.
