There is now a new experience on offer to holidaymakers staying in hotels in Los Angeles following the premiere of Transformers: The Ride-3D at Universal Studios Hollywood.

A high-profile event staged to mark the unveiling of the new attraction was attended by famous figures including Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg and actor Peter Cullen, who provides the voice of Optimus Prime in the Transformers movies.

Universal Studios Hollywood describes the new feature as its 'most ambitious ride ever', with original high-definition, 3D media content, flight simulation technology and action sequences full of special effects.

Guests are sent along 2,000ft of track and surrounded by 14 screens standing at heights of up to 60ft.

Speaking about the new attraction, Universal Studios Hollywood president Larry Kurzweil said: 'It has all the elements to become one of the world's most dynamic theme park thrill rides and a centrepiece attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.'

The park, which is part of Universal City in Los Angeles County, offers other experiences inspired by films and series such as King Kong, Jurassic Park, Shrek and The Simpsons.
