Sports fans urged to check out San Sebastian's surfing scene

Travellers with a passion for watersports and adventurous activities should consider visiting San Sebastian on the north coast of Spain to check out the city's surfing scene.
According to the local tourist board, the destination takes full advantage of its natural attractions and resources.
Heading into the water to go surfing and trying some of the many other aquatic pursuits on offer proves particularly popular among both locals and visitors during the summer.
A press spokesperson for San Sebastian Turismo said: 'Surf culture is highly developed in San Sebastian and for years surfers from around the world [have] come to the Zurriola beach to surf.'
The city is also known for the Behobia-San Sebastian fun run, which takes place in the autumn and attracts thousands of participants from around the world.
People interested in visiting northern Spain can reach the region by catching flights to Bilbao, the capital of the province of Biscay.
