Britons considering a holiday in Jamaica can learn more about the destination at a special event in London this summer.

Jamaica House will be based at the O2's Bubble venue from 3 to 12 August and will take visitors on an interactive journey through the Caribbean nation's history.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the country's rich culinary culture, music and the people who live there.

The venue will also serve as a base for watching Usain Bolt and other Jamaican athletes bidding for glory at the Olympic Games in London.

Jason Hall, deputy director of tourism at the Jamaica Tourist Board, said people coming to the O2 this summer can join in with a 'global party'.

'Come and meet us to celebrate half a century of incredible achievements and experience history in the making on the track,' he added.

Also coming to the O2 from 24 July to 22 October 2012 is Jamaica Summer, a celebration of the history of entertainment in the country, which will focus on the likes of Bob Marley, Lee 'Scratch' Perry and Jimmy Cliff.
