Holidaymakers staying in hotels in Sydney can now visit a new attraction at one of the city's leading wildlife centres.

The Tropical Bay of Rays exhibit, which recently had its public unveiling, is one of 14 new displays set to open at Sydney Aquarium as part of a $10m (£6.5m) refurbishment of the complex.

A team of experts recently transferred an array of exotic rays and other marine species - including the blue-spotted fantail ray, the leopard shark and the white-spotted guitarfish - into a central tank surrounded by palm trees and a sunset scene.

This marks the first time that this collection of endangered and threatened animals has been displayed together.

Visitors can learn more about the marine creatures, attend daily feeding sessions and listen to talks about each species.

The aquarium is located next door to WILD LIFE Sydney in Darling Harbour, one of the city's busiest and most popular areas for tourists.
