Qantas launches QStreaming entertainment service
20 Jul 2012

Qantas has announced the rollout of a service allowing passengers on Boeing 767 aircraft to have inflight entertainment content streamed directly to iPads in every seat.

The QStreaming programme is being expanded following a successful trial earlier this year.

Panasonic is working with the airline on the initiative, offering a technological solution to provide more than 200 hours of on-demand content to every passenger in business and economy classes across the 767 fleet, free of charge.

Qantas spokesman Lyell Strambi said: 'We're now looking at ways to evolve this technology platform even further with our partner Panasonic to bring new standards of inflight entertainment to our customers.'

The first aircraft offering the service will be introduced in the fourth quarter of this year and will predominantly operate routes on Australia's east coast, as well as flights to Perth in the west of the country.

A number of changes are being introduced to improve the airline's domestic customer experience, including enhancements to ground services and further aircraft upgrades.
