Insight Guides launches new e-books

Insight Guides has announced details of its first range of e-books covering 17 destinations, including Thailand, south-west France, New Zealand and India.

The company said the digital guides will follow the lead of its printed books by providing insights into the history, people, cuisine and culture of a location, exploring everything from design in Italy to Australia's bush tucker.

Users can access 'places' chapters guiding them around specific destinations, region by region, focusing on main attractions as well as lesser-known sights.

'Best of' lists are designed to help travellers prioritise where to go and what to do.

Insight Guides also confirmed that the e-books feature practical advice chapters with information on topics such as hotels, restaurants, transport and activities, as well as digital bonuses including high-resolution photography, pinch-to-zoom mapping and links to relevant websites.

The new guides are priced from £10.99 and available from outlets including Amazon, the Apple iBooks store and Kobo.
