Thai Airways launches mobile boarding passes
7 Aug 2012
Thai Airways has introduced a service allowing passengers to receive boarding passes on mobile phones.
The airline said the facility will ensure travellers do not have to wait in long queues when departing from airports in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, as well as other domestic bases in Thailand.
Users of the service will receive a boarding pass in a message to their phone and will be able to complete the check-in process using the booking code.
There is also an option for mobile boarding passengers to change their seats.
Saroj Yuttatri, Thai Airways' vice president, said the airline is trying to improve customer convenience, reduce check-in counter processes and also protect the environment.
He added: 'Passengers can avail of the new service via mobile phones or tablet browsers, mobile applications, mobile games and iPad applications.'
Thai Airways serves more than 70 cities from its hub in Bangkok, including London, Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
