Emirates expanding Australian services
10 Sep 2012

International travellers searching for flights to Australia will soon have a wider range of options to choose from with Emirates, with the Dubai-based airline set to boost its links to the country over the next six months.

On 1 December 2012, the carrier's current double-daily service to Perth will be stepped up to 19 weekly connections, before becoming a triple-daily operation from 1 March next year.

Emirates is also set to add a brand new Australian city to its network, with four weekly flights to Adelaide starting on 1 November this year.

Daily connections to Adelaide - which is the airline's fifth destination in Australia after Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth - will be available from 1 February 2013.

Emirates will also be expanding in Europe over the coming months, with Lyon in southern France and Poland's capital Warsaw set to be added to its network from 5 December 2012 and 6 February next year respectively.

Chairman and chief executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said the carrier is in a 'concentrated and sustained period of global expansion'.

He added: 'The addition of Adelaide to our network and the boost to our Perth operations demonstrates our commitment to investment and growth in our Australian operations.'
