Star Clippers to return to Baltic in 2013
1 Oct 2012

Following a successful 2012 season in the Baltic, Star Clippers has announced that it will return to the region next year with some new itineraries.

In order to give more people the opportunity to try sailing with the tall-ship operator, new 'taster' cruises have been added, including four-night sailings from Amsterdam to Hamburg in May and Hamburg to Ostend in August.

Other highlights of the programme will include an eight-night round-trip from Travemunde in Germany that will see Star Clippers take part in the Rostock Sailing Parade, a procession of tall ships from around the world.

Michael Krafft, owner of the cruise line, said the 170-guest Star Flyer's inaugural Baltic season this year highlighted the itineraries that are most popular among travellers, with the 2013 programme set to be adjusted accordingly.

'Many Baltic sailings proved popular in 2012, to the extent that the ten and 11-night sailings from Stockholm, visiting St Petersburg, sold out very quickly,' added Mr Krafft.

In response, the company has doubled the number of departures on this route from three to six for next year.
