Cinemagoers planning to see critically acclaimed new movie Life of Pi have been invited to follow up their viewing by flying with Jet Airways to explore some of the Indian locations featured in the film.

Based on the Man Booker Prize-winning book by Yann Martel, the film follows the character of Pi Patel, the son of a zookeeper who finds himself lost at sea with a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan and a 450-pound Bengal tiger.

The story begins in India, featuring scenes shot in Kerala and Pondicherry, where travellers can visit some of the markets and temples seen on screen.

Life of Pi was directed by Ang Lee and stars Suraj Sharma as the title character and Rafe Spall as a writer creating an account of the story.

Lee has been quoted as saying that Martel's book has 'inherent material that romances and idealises India in a very specific way'.

Jet Airways offers daily flights from London Heathrow to Kochi, Kerala, via Mumbai, and also operates from Manchester and Birmingham via Brussels.
