Bowie to boost Berlin's tourism
10 Jan 2013

An increase in tourists visiting Berlin has been predicted after iconic pop star David Bowie decided to set his latest song there.

The comeback tune 'Where Are We Now?' references places Bowie grew familiar with during his time living in Berlin in the 1970s and the music video features moody shots of the city, the Telegraph reports.

And such is the pop star's influence that Christian Tanzler, the spokesman for the Berlin tourist office, believes that people will want to follow in his footsteps.

"David Bowie's decision to return to Berlin musically is great news for us and it will of course encourage even more people to come and see the city for themselves," he told the news provider.

"He is one of the world's greatest musicians - and a great hero in Berlin."

Top sights on Berlin's tourist trail include the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the much-photographed Brandenburg Gate.
