Australia taking applications for 'best jobs in the world'

Australia taking applications for 'best jobs in the world'
5 Mar 2013

Four years after Brit Ben Southall was picked to be the caretaker of the idyllic Hamilton Island on Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Tourism Australia is once again looking for worthy candidates to take on the 'world's best jobs'.

The organisation is looking for a chief 'funster' to live the VIP lifestyle in Sydney; an outback adventurer in the Northern Territory; a park ranger in Queensland; a wildlife caretaker in South Australia; a lifestyle photographer in Melbourne and a taste master scouring Western Australia for the best in food and drink.

Each six month contract is worth AUD 50,000 (£34,000), with a further AUD 50,000 in living expenses, which works out at £136,000 per annum - not a bad rate!

To encourage candidates to apply, Mr Southall, originally from Hampshire but now living in Australia, has launched a video campaign showcasing the roles.

The closing date for online applications is 10 April at 9pm AEST.
