Richard Branson advises passengers on 'getting lucky'

Virgin America passengers can now buy cocktails and snacks for their fellow flyers through a new in-flight entertainment service endorsed by Sir Richard Branson.

To promote this new feature, the business mogul has released a video on the subject entitled Sir Richard Branson’s Guide To Getting Lucky at 30,000 Feet.

In it he pokes fun at himself with references to space travel and a hot air balloon before going on to highlight the Seat-to-Seat Delivery system for those wanting to impress without the resources of a multi-millionaire at their fingertips.

He concludes: 'I'm not a betting man, but I'd say your chance of deplaning with a plus-one are at least 50 per cent.'

A message can be included with the purchase; travellers are just advised to ensure that the recipient is not being accompanied by a partner on the flight.

The service has been rolled out on Virgin America flights from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, but could be extended to other destinations if it proves popular.ADNFCR-408-ID-801577571-ADNFCR
