More and more Brits are booking flights to Abu Dhabi, with the number of people from the UK staying in the emirate up 10% year-on-year.

In the first four months of this year, 54,050 Britons stayed in Abu Dhabi's hotels for an average of 4.71 nights, the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) reports. This makes the UK the emirate's largest overseas tourist market.

Overall, the number of guests staying in hotels in Abu Dhabi totalled 868,121 to the end of April, an increase of 10%.

'There were a number of key events in Abu Dhabi during April - the hosting of the World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit ... among them - and these will have delivered enhanced performance and demonstrate the importance of business events and exhibitions in the tourism mix,' commented HE Mubarak Al Muhairi, director-general of TCA Abu Dhabi.ADNFCR-408-ID-801592160-ADNFCR
