Even prime ministers need a passport

Even prime ministers need a passport

Checking you've got your passport should be top priority before you head to the airport, even if you're the prime minister.

However, David Cameron failed to follow the number one rule of international travel before jetting off on his recent holiday to Ibiza, only realising he didn't have his ID when he arrived at Gatwick.

But while the majority of travellers would have missed their flights, staff were able to locate the passport in a safe at Number 10 and rush it to the airport, a source told the Sun.

'Luckily, his staff were able to locate the passport swiftly and it was delivered safely into his hands - just in time for take-off,' the source said.

Although it was an embarrassing incident, Mr Cameron can take heart from the fact that he is not alone in forgetting his passport. Last year, research from Opodo revealed that 8% of Brits had previously left theirs at home. ADNFCR-408-ID-801593400-ADNFCR
