Holkham Beach in north Norfolk will no longer be catering for nudist visitors after a 'minority' of beachgoers engaged in 'persistent anti-social behaviour'.

The Holkham Estate, which operates the naturist area on the western section of Holkham Beach, decided to act after consulting with police, EDP 24 reports.

However, British Naturism, which represents the interest of 10,000 members in the UK, expressed disappointment at the decision.

'If 20 people out of 20,000 in a football stadium cause trouble they don’t close the whole stadium so it is a shame that the Holkham Estate has come to make this decision and we would like to open some dialogue with them about this,' Andrew Welch, a spokesman for British Naturism, told the news provider.

The Holkham National Nature Reserve comprises 9,158 acres of land between Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Overy. It is popular with visitors who come to enjoy the beach and the wildlife.ADNFCR-408-ID-801600371-ADNFCR
