Prime minister to holiday in Scotland

Prime minister to holiday in Scotland

David Cameron is reportedly heading to Scotland for his summer holiday, just 12 months before the referendum on independence.

In what could be seen as a tactical piece of vacation planning, the prime minister will head to a secluded part of the west coast, Herald Scotland reports.

Just last week, Mr Cameron, who wants Scotland to remain part of the UK, was calling for Scottish sporting hero Andy Murray to be knighted after his Wimbledon win.

'It was a fantastic day for Andy Murray, for British tennis and for Britain,' he said.

Scottish first minister Alex Salmond was accused of cheap points scoring himself at the final after unfurling a Saltire flag behind the PM.

Mr Cameron will be hoping his holiday is more successful than recent trips where he has been criticised for failing to tip a waitress and for leaving the UK at sensitive times. ADNFCR-408-ID-801613917-ADNFCR
