One flight, two emergency landings

One flight, two emergency landings
9 Aug 2013

As if making one emergency landing wasn't bad enough, a group of unlucky passengers flying from Saudi Arabia to London had to endure two aborted flights in 24 hours.

On Wednesday (7 August), the service from Riyadh to Heathrow was forced to return to its departure point less than an hour into the flight when the plane developed a flap issue.

After a bumpy emergency landing, the passengers were then put on a flight the following morning but the problem had apparently not been fixed as the pilot was once again forced to return to Riyadh.

Furious travellers than staged a three-hour sit in on the plane, before armed guards arrived to escort them off.

The airline involved told the Daily Mail it had offered the passengers compensation, expenses and complimentary tickets, as well as arranging hotel accommodation for them while they waited for a replacement plane to arrive.ADNFCR-408-ID-801623059-ADNFCR
