Night at the museum in Italy

Night at the Museum in Italy
22 Aug 2013

If you're heading to Italy on holiday before the end of the year, make sure you take advantage of a new initiative called 'Night at the Museum'.

Not to be confused with the Ben Stiller movies, this programme has actually been conceived by the Italian culture ministry and will see 38 of Italy's most important museums and archaeological sites keep their doors open until midnight on the last Saturday of each month.

This project will run until the end of December for participating museums and until the end of September for archaeological sites.

Among the attractions on the list are the Galleria Borghese in Rome, Pompeii in Naples and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

'Citizens and tourists will have the chance, outside the usual visiting hours, to admire the cultural heritage of Italy,' commented culture minister Massimo Bray.ADNFCR-408-ID-801628431-ADNFCR
