Fifty Shades of Grades named 'most neglected book'

Fifty Shades of Grades named 'most neglected book'

A new report has suggested that while EL James' Fifty Shades of Grey novel is popular among travellers, it is also the book that is most likely to get left behind when they vacate their hotel room.

The book topped bestseller charts when it first went on sale in the UK, attracting an impressive amount of public attention in the process.

However, the report produced by a budget hotel chain suggests that the book is not worth a reread.

Reflecting on the study,  Shakila Ahmed of Travelodge explained that a trend has emerged in recent years when it comes to the types of books that are being neglected.

"Over the last three years our annual books left behind study has shown a decline in celebrity biographies but a rise in fiction, especially for thrillers and romantic trilogies," she said.

What's more, Ms Ahmed revealed that the sheer number of books being left behind by travellers challenges the notion that consumers prefer e-books over traditional paperbacks.ADNFCR-408-ID-801630327-ADNFCR
